How rough is BA Y? I've been lucky in the past few years to not have been in Y on any flight >2 hours, so I'm a bit spoiled.
BA Y >> AA Y on everything, and the BA Y seat is way better than the CX Y seat, but if you're not used to being in Y... well... it'll build character. It's on par with AS Y, maybe a tad nicer, only twice as long

I did SAN-LHR in BA Y a year or so ago, so it's definitely manageable; as EXP you'll probably have your choice of aisle seats (oh boy! ) I ask the GA if I may have an aisle seat with nobody next to me, and it often works. 6 hrs ain't wonderful, but it's better than doing TPAC in Y. Plus, unlike everyone else in Y, you can go to the F lounge before & after, which takes some of the sting out.
