At least iQ takes Amex. JT is a farce of the first magnitude.
However, droning on the retail aspect, I went to look for a new bread maker for my iWife last month. Looked on-line, then drove the iCar all the 1km to the Jersey Co-Op Grande Marche to see if they had the item she needed. Yes, they had it, for £125 incl 5% GST (and don't take Amex

) Drove 1km home, bought from Amazon (with free delivery) for £87.49 (on Amex

).
High Streets as we know them are largely going down the tubes. The overheads of rent, rates, taxes, staff and all the rest are destroying them … at the click of a button I saved c. £37 having wasted 15 minutes checking the store. I cannot conceive a long-term future for large segments of retail: yes, clothing, jewellery and perhaps Boots will survive. Butchers, Fishmongers and Greengrocers (with their random apostrophes) are already dying under the pressure of Supermarket bulk buying negotiations. I do, very hard, try to "support local" but the numbers simply don't work any more.
The Internet will cost more than you think, in the long term.
