BA said if I did a stopover in New York they said the price would go up to £4795 each.
The ex-eu sale fare doesn't allow a stopover, so to use that sale fare you have to do an open jaw; fly from Europe to NYC on the sale fare, fly NYC to HNL, and then fly back from HNL to Europe on the sale fare.

Mar 29: ATH-LHR-JFK 220 TPs - I7SALE
Apr 4: EWR-ORD-LAX-HNL on AA F 330 TPs - KUPA14HN
Apr 12: HNL-LAX-LHR-BRU 350/390 TPs (depending whether you skip the final LHR-BRU) - I7SALE
That prices out at £2200 p/p for 900/940 TPs.
By the way, did you really want a stopover, or would 24 hours be enough in New York? That would cut down the cost by quite a bit.
