Last trip to Bali it was heavy thunderstorm right on the moment the plane took off DPS. SQ947 (1 Mar 2012) . Heavy rains and lightning so I was anxious as we were already in the plane. I expected a delay of an hour or more which would be safer (?). But we left on time into the Cb cloud with heavy TS which ceded when we flew over the western tip over Bali. There was luckily no noticeable turbuence during takeoff.

Did SQ compromize safety by leaving during a heavy TS ?
