I was there in July 2012. Posts are correct that the hotel does look older, especially the exterior which needs powerwashing/cleaning and repainting on all of the concrete structures.

Interior of the hotel was dated but kept in clean and functional condition. As mentioned, the lounge provided complimentary beverages during the happy hour, as well as breakfast in the morning and some snacks after. I was upgraded to a high floor corner with huge balcony overlooking the pool and beach/bay.

Pool area can use some renovation, especially the walkways since the concrete is rough and you have to be careful where you walk. Pool is pretty large and deep and generally in good condition and there is a nice bar and lunch area. It would need more lounge seating around the pool if busy, but there was almost nobody there on my visit.

The hotel also provided free shuttle service from/to the airport for Plats. You'll have to arrange it in advance.
