Slightly OT but if you're planning to drive from BOS to NYC I'd heartily recommend a stopover in Newport RI and a visit to one or more of the Mansions. Good sailing and and some great fish restaurants too.

Depending on the weather Cape Cod is a beautiful chilled destination and worth the diversion.
