A few years ago I was in a similar situation. I was assured by the customer service department that it would not be a problem. And it wasn-t.
It-s worth remembering that Turkish Airlines boarding cards only have your first name and surname on them, not Mr or Mrs/Ms. I suppose this follows the Turkish neutral designation of Sayin (sorry, i can-t do the i without a dot) in some formal contexts for both Mr or Mrs.
Many other airlines have Mr and Mrs/Ms on their boarding cards, but I-m assuming that matching the names is the most important thing for Turkish Airlines.
