Folks - I apologize for the back and forth. Right now I am really not sure about which hotel to choose between HR Hakone and Hilton Odawara for the first two nights. I asked this question on Hilton Odawara thread and thought HR Hokone would be a better pick. Here please allow me to simplify this comparison:

(1) I'd like to stay Gora Kadan for one night to get an authentic Japanese flavor (my wife loves it!); so it looks like from HR Hakone it is easier to go to Gora Kadan than from Hilton Odawara?

(2) I'd like to stay at a hotel with onsen, and I don't think Hilton Odawara has any onsen, right?

(3) I'd like to obtain a suite beforehand since I am travelling with wife and two girls. As a diamond member for both Hyatt and HHonors, I don't think Hilton Odawara will guarantee a suite upgrade for me, right?

(4) Property wise, I checked pictures posted on both hotels, personally I'd think HR Regency looks nicer while Hilton Odawara is kind of old? Please comment.

Thanks!
As you will already be in Gora, the Hyatt Regency Hakone is a much better choice than the Hilton Odawara. Regardless of the time of renovation, HR Hakone is in excellent condition and is overall a great hotel.

The Regency Suite twin is the best category in the entire hotel, as discussed upthread.
