Premium would likely be more comfortable, but the SUV can't be beat for size, especially with the cooler box you are including. Fuel economy will vary greatly. The 2013 Escape gets 28 mpg highway, which is better then most of the premiums. If you want comfort and features then go premium. The SUV wins for size and it will blend in better.
