I don't think this is correct.
According to Qantas themselves:
Australian Domestic Fare Structure Changes 27 June 2011
Effective for sale, travel and ticket issue from 7 July 2011, Qantas will implement a new Australian Domestic Economy class fare structure.
The Red eDeal fare family now consists of E, O, Q, N and S classes;
The Flexi Saver fare family now consists of V, L, M, K and H classes; and
The Fully Flexible fare family now consists of B and Y class.
So "E" seems to be the lowest (and hence cheapest) fare class on QF domestic.
According to BA, here are the QF classes that earn:
Eligible classes for Avios
Economy (Full Fare) Y, B, H
Economy (Discounted) M, K, L, N, G, Q, S, V, O
So "E" is the only non-earning class on QF.
