Wow! My son is on an AA Econ award WLG-SYD-DFW-CLT (10900 mi) and $41 USD was paid in taxes.

The $469 for MEL-PER-JNB-CPT (7645 mi) seems somewhat excessive!

For a QF 'newbie', is there an easy way to determine taxes prior to purchase? I burned J award AKL-SYD-SIN in Nov 11 but cannot recall the cost of 'taxes'.
