FWIW, a new hotel has appeared in DC. It appears to be a new build C/Y, know as the C/Y Foggy Bottom and it like the RI is a Cat 5 property.
I know nothing else about this new property, though.
Wow! Didn't know there was a CY going in there. I went to GW and lived in a dorm on that block for a couple years. You will be at the edge of the GW campus. The nearest Metro station is either Foggy Bottom or Farragut North, but each is about a half mile walk. That area is really mostly about GWU.
You are walking distance to the Mall, though. You are particularly close to the cool but lesser known Signers of the Declaration of Independence Monument and the Vietnam Vets Memorial.
Fun Fact: GWU doesn't have a football team because they donated the stadium land to the US Government, on which the reflecting pool was built.
