Qantas redemption "taxes" are very high - $469 for one way MEL-PER-JNB-CPT
I have always thought that QFF redemptions for so-called "taxes" were on the expensive side.

But I really looked twice this morning, to be quoted "taxes" of $469 for a one-way ticket Melbourne to Cape Town via Perth and Johannesburg in business + 110,000 QFF points.

Thats really points + pay, and almost $1000 in "taxes" for a return ticket. I am a pretty loyal QF person, but those kind of redemption charges make even me think that it is time to look for another frequent flyer plan. If this werean economy class redemption these kinds of charges would be completely non-sensical.
