I also have a very large utility bill for my company (yes, we conserve where possible). It is only payable with a Visa, M/C or Discover card. Until last year, we basically only had two cards, an AA and a British Airways.
I have recently done my very first app-o-rama, and my goals are:
-Hit 25K spend on Chase United card for 10K bonus
-Hit (and zoom by) $750 per month on Barclays US Air card for 3 months/10K bonus
-Use AA card at about 10K per month and get another superb retention bonus (May)
-Use Ink Bold to chalk up UR points after hitting spend above
-Abandon British Airways card usage and ideas of Companion Pass (have 2 vouchers already and would rather spend on other cards now) Possibly get new BA card before current offer expires.
-Spend randomly on Amex PRG card where they take it and see if I hit 25K by the end of the year for that bonus
The utility bill is 5-15K a month, and I will hit the 25K spends one by one. Besides that bill, it seems that most of my cards settle in at about 2K a month spend-- it feels a bit willy nilly.
We have 3 businesses and I have a pretty strong feeling that it's going to be brutal to find all the deductions in all these statements. I will have the wrath of Mr San Diego to deal with as he does the taxes. It's already all mixed up as I tried to meet spend on my new cards and then the vendors auto-billed them from there on out. I'm in search of a better plan if somebody has one!
