I continue to believe that a large part of the problem is no management onboard. The only differentiation between FAs is that one is designated as Purser. However, that only means a small increment in the hourly rate and some additional paperwork responsibilities for the flight. There is no Inflight Serivce Manager or similar with the authority to ensure that pax receive good service. Contrast this to most foreign carriers where there is a manager on every flight.
