What is that set procedure?

I'm curious because although I don't expect any kind of recognition, I've never had at-seat recognition when travelling in WT/WT+ and I must have done a dozen long haul sectors last year.

I did get a personal introduction from the CSD on one flight but that was in CW.

But people here talk about getting 'recognised' as standard and I don't really know what they mean. Are they talking about simply being greeted at the door by name? Or is there something more?
