last week, I was flying on BA11 LHR-SIN in Y. In the final few minutes before pushing off, the senior flight attendant in Y came to my seat and said they recognised both my status (Gold) and title (Dr,) but there was no room in any other cabin for me. However, they would give me the food from "upfront". Also when they were doing the drinks, they gave me two each time. I found the proactive apology particularly strange, as i was on a Y ticket (fully flexible).
