You need to basically buy a full-fare economy ticket to be able to upgrade using miles, hence the difference is so large.
The cheapest discounted economy tickets are usually more than 50% discounted from the full-fare price.
This makes me think upgrading using miles is not the best use of miles...I'd be curious to know what others think/have experienced.
Well, my understanding about 'more than 50% discount' is special fare such as AD75/IN90..
