If your losing the bed type you want that is an issue, but are you getting a better room category?
Once I figured out how to check my room status on the mobile site, I notice this happens frequently to my reservations. I do believe it is so the hotel can manage upgrades. The last time it happened to a reservation of mine, the front desk clerk was from my home time and upgraded us to one of the best rooms in the hotel, since I knew his dad. I can tell you that is not where our reservation stood when we walked in as we had a less than desirable room with 3 people listed in it when I only reserved a room for 2.
