Separate from the Aeroplan/Altitude versus Mileage Plus comparison, is the question of the service - economy or first/business class with AC versus UA - I think most participants on this forum will favour AC over UA for a variety of reasons (details can be found in a variety of other threads).

PS-Does Mileage Plus have a "concierge" type service for 1K (or higher) tier passengers, as is the case for SEs with the Aeroplan program?

PPS-Does domestic United Club lounges allow passengers to use them as arrival lounges, as is the case for domestic MLLs which allow SE and Es to use them?
1) Doesnt affect most people here, as long as Canada is in the itinerary, you get access throughout your journey, even on USA domestic connections. You get full MLL access on Canadian domestics of course as well

2) Favouring one over the other is a matter of opinion. AC may have a slight edge up front, but I'll take free economy plus on UA any day over AC Y.

3) There is a BF concierge if you are flying business internationally, otherwise, United Clubs are staffed with additional help desks in addition to ID/credential checkers - these people can work magic.

4) I have no idea - I've never really wanted to use a lounge on arrival, but I am guessing no.
