I understand you can't make a companion redemption with miles until the J class ticket is ticketed. What if you need to make flight changes for the original paid ticket? Does the corresponding companion redemption have automatic date change applied to reflect the new travel dates/times of the paid ticket?

Also, am I correct to assume companion redemption will have higher priority should waitlist be required?
