Less than $20 between what it should be and what it actually was.
I'm not going to get into the whole CPU issue because the R inventory isn't relevant in this discussion.
One of the biggest complaints of the gang of 12 has been that elites aren't offered the same deals as GMs or lower level elites. For a 1K to be offered a $39 buy up, after having assessed his/her position on the waitlist, to me, is how the system was designed. Do I agree with it? No. Do I stick with UA because it continues to be the best airline for my flying pattern and desire for a loyalty program? Yes.
