Just on the subject of the QF video (Sorry), having done 4 sectors on QF J, LHR - SIN - MEL and back, I was left wondering whether there is actually a video to go with it, as QF insist that the video screens in business have to be stowed for taxi, when they are showing the video. The crew did a manual demo of the key points, so maybe this is deliberate.
I did find the cricket thing and the 'captain, captain' script absurd. Especially without the video, I neither knew nor cared who the cricketers were. They did have annoying voices, especially when listening for the first time in 8 hours on the return leg.
Overall, it left me wishing for the cheesy bunny-picking-up of the BA video. I actually quite like the BA video, even if it does look a little dated.
And I always watch and listen to video / demo, if only out of politeness to the poor crew giving the demo - although they could smile and look / seem interested. Interest is infectious, and I'm sure that more people would pay attention if they did this.
