We are a family of 6 ( 4 Adults 2 kids ) and arrive in Accra at 8am on a cruise ship. The cruise ends in Accra and we fly to JNB late that same night. What I am trying to organise is a minibus/guide/driver that will pick us up at the Tema Cruise Terminal at 9am, take us where WE want to go and drop us at the Kotoka Airport at 6pm. We want to see Aburi Botanical Gardens and then go craft/material shopping - mainly in OSU. I have had a couple of quotes ranging from $US 415 to $US 1350 !! But these quotes have us doing/seeing things I have not asked for ! Then I saw the Avis Ghana website and they do a minibus with driver for $US 130 a day. SO my questions are -

has anyone used AVIS and are their drivers reliable and know where to go ? The Avis website says they are good drivers and I would expect this from Avis.
Is my plan to go to the Aburi Gardens - have lunch there and then shopping in Osu and have us at the airport by 6pm too much ??
Also we will need to change some money pretty soon after we get off the boat.
