Used to get a drink service, hot meal tray, wine, tea and coffee all in an hour on a 737-400... mind you there were usually 4 or 5 crew......
Some of us have long memories.......
it has everything to do with the cost base and the competition from Gatwick being Thomson, Monarch and Easyjet.
I think the breakfast trays are smaller and they are able to use ovens at the front and rear on a domestic flight. On a Band 4 flight the ovens at the front are used for CE. There are quite a few differences between a domestic flight and a Band 4 flight. The domestic does not have the same number of drinks bars if it is at breakfast time, nor does it have duty free trolleys or the same number of back up trolleys with juice, water and other items that you require on a Band 4 flight but not on a domestic.
