I have recently taken a couple flights on UA metal, crediting my miles to US. The leg from ORD-MKE is showing on my US account with the message "FLIGHT NUMBER EXCLUSION PER CONTRACT", and I am not getting miles or segment credit. In all my years of flying, with many segments on UA metal, I have never seen this on my US account.

I read recently in one of the blogs that certain four digit United flights are actually operated through codeshare agreements with other airlines. While they may be mileage earning on UA, if they are not a part of the US codeshare agreement, then you would not be able to earn the miles. Is this possibly what happened in your case?
