Is this only an issue with code shares? Or is there also a problem obtaining advance seat assignments when booking on IB metal using AA miles? Has anyone found a solution? I have some tickets I'd like to book with AA miles that includes an IB transatlantic segment, but don't want to do so if we can't get seats until check in.
