Huh? Are you suggesting there's no advantage to being able to fly routes like LAX-HKG on CX (booked as AA and thus earning AA EQP/EQM since CX deep discount fares don't earn jack on AA)? I would argue (as would many others I'm sure) that the complete opposite is true. AA codeshares bring the world so much closer it's incredible. Nothing quite like flying to Singapore all on AA codeshares and getting a ton of miles to show for it.
