the easiest way to find out is to just go on united.com and re-checkin your itinerary again. when you tell it how many bags you want to check in, it should re-assess the fees given your confirmed cabin class (R in this case) which should then tell you your bag fees are $0.
Yup, that's where I saw it. But the wording said based on fare purchased, hence my confusion.
So do I get R mileage bonus too now?
