Hello, all. It is my first time traveling as United Silver today. I also have the United MileagePlus card.

It was my understanding that I can only check in 1 free bag, and the documents on United's site agreed. However since check in, I was emailed that I was upgraded to First Class on one of my legs. Now the reservation shows that I get 2 free checked bags. Is this true? If so, this is almost better than the First Class itself!

I have no experience with the matter, so I'd appreciate a quick answer from someone who does. I don't trust a random United phone agent, for some reason.
