Since the T (Riverside green line) stops at Fenway Park, you might find something near Copley Square/Back Bay area. Also the Holiday Inn near Boston Garden has rates as low as $99 if there's no event going on. The Longwood Medical area is one stop or a 3/4 mile walk away. There's a Best Western, but it's usually pretty pricey.
