I saw in the sticky that you cannot earn Club Carlson points and status when booking through Expedia and other third parties.

However the Club Carlson and hotel sites appear to only sell in local currency.

Is there any way to always pay in GBP and still earn points?

I think that I would rather not collect points than pay the credit card conversion charges. Any thoughts on this?
