I recently booked SNN-LHR-DFW-ORD though BA.com for travel in April. The LHR-DFW-ORD legs are codeshare flights with AA. I attempted to pre-select my seats for these flights on the MMB section, which then directed me to the seat maps on AA.com. However, AA.com wouldn't allow me to complete this process.
I rang BA and they happily assigned the seats I was looking for. However, when I check the seat maps once again on AA.com, my requested seats are still appearing as available for selection. My itinerary on checkmytrip.com shows the seats have been assigned to me. So I'm a bit confused as to whether my seats have actually been reserved or not. Has anyone else had this issue?
I'm just concerned that I'll turn up at check-in, only to be assigned different seats (such as the dreaded middle seat) due to someone else selecting those seats online.
Thanks,

The AA MMB link is generally quite reliable but you have 2 options available.
1) Note the AA Trip Locator reference and log into your booking via aa.com and see if you can change it there.
2) Call AA direct with the AA reference number and ask them to assign you seats. BA are not good at assigning AA seats in my experience. If you want it done properly do it yourself.
