This is interesting, and I do hope they do something - I moved to HH when I lost RA status last year on what I'd assumed was more than enough nights and got squarely dismissed when I queried it.
Having made Diamond there and with the last few promos, I'm converted - I'll burn my PC points at the ICs in London and Paris, but aside from IHG-only locations, I don't see see the value in IHG for my stay pattern. Next to no elite recognition on paid stays, none on award nights, and I'm earning faster without promos at Hilton than I do at IHG.
Two 'revaluations' on the trot - really? Why on earth were categories not introduced last year if this was sufficiently important?

What a vulgar bit of dress-uppery. There is no way you could possibly design a simpler and easier to understand program than the one you dismantled last year, with few levels and a clear connection between brand and value.
And there's also nobody on earth who would prefer the direction you're moving in over the place we've already left. If your aim is truly to align redemption rates with hotel rates, ditch the points smokescreen altogether and have everyone earn PCR 'cash' instead, then it'll truly reflect hotel rates and everyone can see just exactly what (ie how little) they're earning back. Can't get more aligned than that.
So rather than trying to dress up a move designed to balance the books and decrease your award night expenses, why not apologise for it, and maybe give us something in return to reduce the gap between PCR and the other main chains?
