If you have come across avios for whatever means, there's an opportunity cost. Rather than crediting that CX flight to a scheme that's not good for you, credit to AA instead. Rather than pay a fortune for a BA credit card, why not get a United one?
The irony thing is people pay VERY LITTLE for the 100K Avios.
The important thing is, people need to understand HOW a particular program work and take advantage of its strength and not try to make lemonade out from its weakness!
