Nordair didn't really seem to know what to do with their Connies; they also turned up at London Gatwick on transatlantic group charters from Toronto during this time, and did odd freight flights despite having no mainstream freight doors. They had a spectacular grey market disposal as all four were passed at the end of 1968 to an organisation called Canairelief, and operated from Sao Tome island, a Portugese colonial island in those days off Africa, on flights into the Nigerian Biafra war zone. It appears they were carrying both aid for the population, and also gun-running for the Biafran rebels, landing into unlit jungle strips at night. Two were destroyed in the operation, the other two abandoned at Sao Tome where they rotted away for years.
