After some discussion, the hotel offered to let us use the pool even though it is still being worked on, since it does have water in it, even though it is officially closed. Oddly, I wasn't keen to expose my 2 year old to this - although the fact they were willing to let 1 room out of 70 use the pool is interesting, no idea what other guests would have thought! My impression was that we would give them notice of the times we wanted it and all the workmen would down tools for an hour or so. The spa is fully closed and won't be opening just for us, although it is actually due to open at the end of next week. We really had no choice but to cancel.

flights are on miles and so I can still cancel, even though they depart in 22 hours

As to the kids club this too is up and runing, however given the current levels of occupancy we are unable to guarantee how many children might be using it in one week.

Clearly we expect in future half terms we will be a centre of activity for families.

I regret the fact that "Raffles" was unable to visit this time, we do look forward to welcoming “Raffles” in the future.
