SE was competitive with UA top tier even before the recent UA cutbacks (and looks even better now). Its the rest of the tiers and basic membership where Aeroplan isn't competitive.

A basic member of UA's program (or AAs, or NWs etc) is guarenteed seat availability to where they want when they want. Prestige and Elite do NOT get this with Aeroplan. A FF program without seat avialability is a joke.
