As an update to the useful information in the post from January 2011 regarding Norway SIMs, I can report from a recent trip that the Chess Super Kontant sim card provides incredible value. Purchased at a Telnor shop the price is 49 NK (~$9.00) and comes with 50 NK in usage. Data is capped at 10 NK/day. I purchased an additional 100 NK of use so for a total of 149 NK ($27) I had unlimited data for two weeks. Most cities have 3G speeds. There were just a few spots along the coast from Bergen to Tromso where I did not have data access. And in most every port we stopped in the speed would be 3G. The sim card also allowed tethering from my iphone to other devices at no additional cost.
