It's not actually about whether the pax take it seriously, it's about whether they listen to it so their subconscious retains it for an emergency. As a result, a fun video which actually encourages people to watch because it is fun seems more likely to do this. And the reason the NZ one is so long is because it is detailed. There's a lot of stuff in there which is good practice and which pax should be told, but which is not normally included.
Loved the bare essentials one as well.
But if safety videos have to be deadly serious, why was the CX one for many years a cartoon involving the pink panther (and the cutest little baby pink panther ever as well). Sadly, youtube doesn't have it
