Minimum Connection Times (MCT) vary by a number of factors, including airport, terminals, type of connection (D-D, I-I, I-D or D-I) and carriers/flights used. Ticket rules have no control over the MCT.

The base I-I MCT at SYD is 1 hour, but using different carriers for each sector can increase that.
eg, connecting from QF22 to QF11 has a 1 hour MCT, connecting from QF22 to QF320 (codeshare on BA16) has a 2 hour MCT.

how does it work in that was with airport taxes? Will I pay them anyway or only if I spend more than 24 hours on ground?
Almost all taxes are including in the ticket price. There are very few places that still require airport fees to be paid at the airport. If you are connecting through an airport, you will pay the fees for that airport. If you have an I-I connection in SYD, you'll have to pay the SYD airport fees, but will likely not need to pay the Australian Customs arrival/departure fees (or else get a lower rate for them).
