If you are hungry I would say follow your eyes and nose.

Your currency from 2009 should be current.

For real food I would wait until I get to the Venetian. Venetian has shuttle from both piers, if the Taipa is a longer wait heading to Main Macau pier might get you to the Venetian sooner.
