C &I Youngstown, OH West

As part of the marital compromise, which requires my participation in two driving weekend getaways per year, I booked us in this hotel. The hotel is within a mile or so of I 80 E at the Niles- Canfield exit in Youngstown, OH. We arrived after midnight and front desk was still pleasant, prompt and stocked with chocolate chip and nut cookies. We were given room 419, which is between the back stairs and elevator.

This hotel has a more modern decor than any of the others that I have seen in my normal travels. The bed was a bit hard for us, but we sleep on mush level of select comfort at home, so probably not the best judge on this. Room was nice size with couch and chair in the living area.

The pool is relatively small about 12x20, but for those with kids, it would be sufficient to get em wet. The gym had a couple of elliptical machines, could hold about five people.

Shower had good water pressure, plenty of it hot water, and adequate lighting. Not impressed with the towels, but there were plenty.

Breakfast is the typical spread for this level hotel. Fruit was fresher than some I've seen. Staff was friendly and the food was still plentiful even though we were much later than normal.

This is an annual trip for me and I usually stay at the Hampton right next door. Given a choice, I'd pick this one, especially since it was $61 given TCB portal and 5,000 pts. Wish there was more C & I at this level, it sure would make my experiment easier.
