Hmmmm ... unless the IFE gear is also delivered by the 'Gate Gourmet' trucks (or equivalent) the cynical cove in me thinks that it may have been a bit more than 'catering difficulties'.

My suspicion would be a glitch caused by the fact that your fare was booked on Delta points. Something 'saw' no J pax so things ground to a halt. I'd ask them if this was the case when you contact them.

Irrespective of the cause I would regard this as a major service failure (especially considering the length of the flight) and worthy of a compensation claim.

Also, I'd get the claim in quickly, before they bring Sabre on line which I'm guessing will result in a flood of complaints (as such things rarely go smoothly).
