While trying to get out of PHL during last weeks snowstorms I found that the monitors could not be relied on. On two occasions i went to a gate which was showing an ontime departure only to find the flight had been been canceled several hours ago. On the last occasion I had already booked a hotel room thinking I wasn't getting out only to have my hopes boosted then dashed.

In talking to the US gate agents I found out that there have been persistent problems with the city operated monitors at PHL and that no amount of complaining has been able to help get the monitors operating accurately.

For a world class international airport I think this is pretty pathetic. Any PHL based FT's want to share your experiences with the monitors?
