You know, I don't think it is. There's only hints on a few websites which are not very reliable (e.g. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_Brit...l_legal_tender ) but also a couple more you would expect to have the right answer http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....html?t=404118
