I am not aware of any hotels or resorts which charge for their gym or fitness rooms, but that does not mean they can't do it if they want to.
As far as not mentioning resort fees, I think it is extremely tacky that the hotel does not put that information on their page, and that Marriott rez does not disclose at time of reservation on the phone, but they don't, so I just try to keep aware. I also think that hotels should disclose what the taxes are for that hotel on their page, as a percentage, but they don't, and that does not mean that is going to happen. Resorts charge extra, call and find out if they do.
