Sorry, but I become worried when I saw this thread. I had never even thought that there might be a separate fee on top of the nightly rate itself. Neither did I ever thought that workout facilities might NOT be free to everyone?
Almost all of the beach resorts and the Orlando resorts charge a resort fee as far as I know. I have not been to a non-beach resort in the last several years, so I do not know about the resort fees at those. I have read several posts about Plats getting the resort fees waived, but most of them mention that something has to be given up, such as parking (often included) and beach towels, and the complimentary bicycle "rental." Call the JW Cancun, and ask them about the resort fee there, and then you will know for sure what it costs and what it's covers.
