Hello all After some lurking and research I still can't make up my mind so I thought I would ask for help.

I'll be doing a lot of flying within Canada this year, and with a couple of overseas trips on UA planned I've calculated that I'll be over 35k miles. The thing is that for status I'd have to spend about $400 dollars extra for Tango+ fares to meet the 10k on AC minimum, and I'm not sure if that would be worthwhile. I won't meet the criteria based on segments.

As far as perks go it would be nice to have priority check-in and Canadian MLL access next year since I'll be flying around the country for medical residency interviews. Other than that I'm not sure how useful status would be.

If you were in my shoes would you shell out the extra money? Are there perks that would be useful which I haven't considered? Thanks in advance!
