Austinrunner - I guess I'm confused why I have to pay those taxes for legs that aren't even part of the IB segment? Why can't AA just price my ORD - DFW - MAD as a separate ticket and do MAD - ORD - SJU as one and charge me taxes for that if that's what's required by flying IB?
As ORD - DFW - MAD is bookable online, they should just give me two separate tickets then and charge the extra taxes on the J 50,000 mile redemption.
